Day 45
After a short return visit to the playground, we loaded up and left Sturbridge for Albany. Due to a minor navigational error,we ended up on the wrong exit, but it turned out to be a scenic detour that didn't add too much time to our trip.
We got back on track only to find that Dave and Sue's road was being repaved requiring some circumnavigation in order to reach their driveway. This too proved a fortuitious circumstance since the kids were treated to front row seats to watch the grader and steam roller at work. |

Another surprise for the afternoon was a trip to "Hoffman's Playland"- a pint sized amusement park that was a real treat. |

The kids got to ride with Peter and Lizzie on the Merry-Go-Round,
the Roller-Coaster, Ferris Wheel, and a host of other things just their
size. Of course the two daredevils, Liz and Sarah, rode the "Scrambler"
which had the rest of us cringing but they just loved it. |
After a break for ice cream cones and a few more rides, we went back to Dave and Sue's for dinner. The wonders for the day were still not over though, as darkness fell and we all trooped out to the yard to chase fireflies before tucking the little ones in for the night. |
